A blog and forum for encouragement, hope and stories by Jiming Lindal

The curtain opens, the lights on, the show starts! Somehow my stomach feels a little tingle, and I was amazed in thoughts “there is no business like show business.”

As part of the entertainment industry, I often comment about we are living in a “delusion” and one of my friends comments “sure, we all live in a delusion, that’s what we like about it.” We put up with the lengthy hours and crazy lifestyles, partly because of the unfading glamor, and partly because that’s who we are, what we love.

When the lights are on you, you forget about everything else, and the world starts to look different. Even if you are just part of the audience, you can still be crying, laughing, or sitting on the edge of a chair!

There is really no business like show business. The one devoted by people’s passions and emotions, be it Vivian Leigh, the Scarlett from Gone with the Wind; or Gregory Peck, the Finch from To Kill a Mockingbird; be it the hope and light as Annie; or death and disguise as Godfather; we are able to experience life and confront our own emotions through plays and movies.

Applause, applause, applause. On the stage, Annie sings “Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love you tomorrow…” The stage and audience is filled with hope and my little girl is filled with awe.

It is priceless.
