A blog and forum for encouragement, hope and stories by Jiming Lindal

When we ordered the DVD of Marry Poppins for my daughter, I ordered the book of Marry Poppins for myself. I couldn’t help but indulge myself in the world of Marry Poppins again. The story and illustrations of the book just reminded me how much fun I had when I was reading the story as a child. The umbrella was magic and the idea of Marry Poppins flying back and forth was sure capturing. My mother back then deprived me of such stories for she thought if kids read too many of these stories, they would start to believe in them. Non-sense, I know, but hey, this is my mother, want to argue with her? Good luck. So, I would just get one or two chances to read these stories, borrowing books from friends and had a good time myself. I also remembered another book of Queen Q, with only little hair at her back that looked like a letter Q and she somehow had a temperament of command and strict; and at the same time too serious that looked awfully funny for a little kid.

The imaginative world is full of colors, and my daughter Heidi told me a story about Santa that I cannot forget. It was on Christmas Eve, Santa stopped by her bed and woke her up from her dream. “Santa!” Heidi cried out. Santa was dressed in red and his beard was really long. Santa said, “I want to take you to the zoo.” “OK!” Heidi jumped to join him. Heidi and Santa saw all the animals, the giraffe, the horses, the bears, the lion, and the tiger. Santa ate a tiger then he became really really big like a giant; Heidi ate a lion then she became really really small like a baby. Then Santa took Heidi like a baby on his sleigh to go to his house. His house is red, covered with snow, in the middle of the mountain. Heidi met Santa’s wife…then, Heidi wanted to give Santa a gift…but he disappeared! How sad, but Heidi still had a great time with Santa! The End.

To be honest I will never thought of such story, especially the eating tiger and lion part, they are so much fun and create good chuckles and laughs!

Marry Poppins, merry hearts; Santa’s Dream, never forget; Sleep tight, and have a good night!

To all the kids, and kids at heart. The End.
